The Neon Wave capsule has landed for SS19, with a style practically made for summer casual strolls. The traditional suede has been switched for a woven canvas Jacquard which introduces hints of black across the white body, although a heritage cotton canvas tongue has been kept in white. Final monochromatic detailing includes a black fabric strip at the heel. The midsole draws inspiration from Converse’s recent collaborations with Virgil Abloh, choosing translucency to further draw attention towards the minimalist aesthetic. A white outsole has been added to harmonise the upper, visible through the mid.

The vulcanised construction ensures a lightweight and anatomic feel to movement, with the introduction of an Ortholite insole for cushioning to make these a perfect all-dayer. Finally the extended foxing-tape and rubber trim across the toe box helps with structural support as well as improved durability over time.

Converse’s iconic gloss-rubber finish has been a staple of their design since their outset over a hundred years ago. Since then the label has come to mean much more than just sportswear, providing functional yet effortless lifestyle essentials.
